Ford’s foray into the electric pickup truck market has been met with resounding success in the form of the F-150 Lightning. However, with competitors like Tesla’s Cybertruck and RAM’s pure electric pickup on the horizon, Ford is under immense pressure to remain at the forefront of this rapidly evolving market.
In response to this challenge, Ford has announced the development of a new pure electric pickup truck under the codename Project T3.
While many details of the new pickup truck remain shrouded in secrecy, Ford has released some tantalizing tidbits of information about its upcoming model. The new pickup truck is expected to carry the F moniker, in keeping with Ford’s longstanding tradition of using this letter to denote its pickup trucks.
However, beyond this naming convention, the new pickup truck is expected to feature a number of exciting new innovations. For starters, the truck will boast a rear porch, which will provide direct access to the rear compartment of the vehicle.
New pickup truck is also expected to have strong OTA (over-the-air) capability, truck is expected to have a strong ability to discharge externally. This means that it will be able to provide power to other devices, such as power tools or camping equipment, through external outlets.
Electric pickup truck market heating up, Ford’s new factory and Project T3 pickup are a clear indication that the company intends to be a major player in this market for years to come.
