Have you been holding off on getting a Tesla due to the high prices? Well now may be the perfect time to take the plunge, as inventory Model Y prices have dropped significantly including $7,500 federal EV tax credit.

Just how cheap can you get a new Model Y right now? Here’s a breakdown:
- Model Y Long Range: $36,590
- Model Y Performance: $39,740
Yes, you read that correctly – a brand new Model Y Performance for under $40,000. That’s achieved by combining Tesla’s inventory discounts of up to 10% with the full $7,500 credit.
A long range Model Y dipping into the $36k range was almost unthinkable just a few months ago. For a fully loaded EV with tons of tech, range, and performance, this is an unbelievable value.
The tax credit makes buying new directly from Tesla’s inventory extra appealing right now. There’s no telling how long prices this low will last as inventory fluctuates.
Of course, you’ll have to factor in taxes and fees on top of the prices above. But even with those added costs, driving off in a Model Y for around $40k or less feels like an absolute steal.
The Model Y is already a category leader when it comes to range, cargo space, tech, and performance. Now with these reduced prices, Tesla has produced an EV that is affordable as well as amazing.
