Trump Endorses Tesla: Searches for “Buy a Tesla” Surge in Republican States

Trump Endorses Tesla

Google searches for “Buy a Tesla” have surged to a multi-day high, with Republican-leaning states like Nevada and Florida leading the charge. This sudden spike follows President Trump’s recent and enthusiastic endorsement of Tesla vehicles—a stark shift in the political landscape surrounding electric vehicles.

During a high-profile White House event featuring Tesla vehicles, Trump announced his intention to purchase an Ultra Red Tesla Model S, stating unequivocally: “I love Tesla. The one I like is that one (Model S). And I want that same color. I’m going to give him (Tesla) a check. I don’t want a discount.”

The president’s support extends beyond personal preference, as he’s taken the extraordinary step of declaring that violence against Tesla showrooms will be labeled as domestic terrorism, (Oregon Man Arrested After $500K Attack on Tesla Showroom with Molotov Cocktails).

CEO Elon Musk announced plans to double the company’s vehicle production in the United States within the next two years—an ambitious target that will require significant expansion of Tesla’s already impressive manufacturing capabilities.

“Tesla’s a great company; They’re American cars, it’s American made. He employs thousands of people. He has the most modern plants in the world,” Trump stated, highlighting the economic impact of Tesla’s domestic production.

This manufacturing focus resonates with the president’s “America First” priorities, particularly as Tesla’s Fremont factory in California currently holds the title of most productive auto plant in North America.

Cybertruck also earned presidential praise, with Trump commenting: “In terms of imagination, and I think I have a pretty great imagination, who else but this guy would design this and everybody on the road is looking at it. As soon as I saw it, I said that’s the coolest design. You gotta give him (Elon) credit.”

This endorsement of Tesla’s most controversial vehicle design represents a significant vote of confidence in Musk’s unconventional approach to automotive design.

The White House Tesla showcase hasn’t been without criticism. Opponents have questioned the president’s decision to feature Tesla vehicles so prominently. However, supporters quickly pointed to the previous administration’s 2021 EV summit, which notably excluded Tesla while showcasing vehicles from GM, Ford, and Stellantis—including an all-electric Hummer EV and a Jeep Wrangler Hybrid.

This historical contrast highlights the shifting political alliances in the automotive industry, with Tesla now positioned as the administration’s premier example of American manufacturing excellence.

Tesla’s designation as the #1 most American-made car strengthens its position amid the current administration’s focus on domestic manufacturing. Unlike competitors who produce vehicles internationally, every Tesla sold in America is built on American soil by American workers.

When purchasing a Tesla, consumers aren’t just buying what many consider the safest and most technologically advanced vehicles on the market—they’re supporting American jobs and a company that’s pushing renewable energy forward.

As the White House continues to spotlight Tesla, it appears the administration is fully charged up about supporting American-made electric vehicles.
