BMW announced a rad partnership this week with AirConsole, a Swiss gaming company, to bring in-car gaming to their latest EV BMW i5. Even better, the AirConsole app will soon launch in other BMW whips, marking AirConsole’s first foray into the in-car entertainment scene.
To get their game on, drivers simply have to download the AirConsole app on their phone and connect to the car’s central display screen. Then, they can scan a QR code to sync up their phone as a controller and start playing one of 15 games – with more coming down the pike in 2023. Talk about a serendipitous date night! As BMW tweeted, “Drive to the best viewpoint you know, get drive-through dinner, sit and play endless games on your Curve Display Screen.”
Of course, for safety’s sake, the gaming function only works when the car is charging, not while actually driving. Wouldn’t want anyone trying to play Go Kart Go or Golazo behind the wheel!
The BMW-AirConsole tag team will offer “an abundance of games” next year, according to BMW. This new in-car gaming feature is next-level entertainment for the next generation of BMW owners and a total game-changer for road trips. No more license plate games or blasting ’80s power ballads to stay awake – just pure gaming bliss in the comfort of your luxury electric vehicle. The future is here, and it’s game on!
