Cadillac has taken the wraps off its highly anticipated Escalade IQ, an all-electric version of its iconic luxury SUV. With a starting price of $130,000, futuristic styling, and a massive 200kWh battery pack, the Escalade IQ aims to deliver an unparalleled electric luxury experience.
At 224 inches long, the Escalade IQ dwarfs other EVs like the Rivian R1T. It stretches a full 6 inches longer than the R1T truck and 12 inches longer than a standard gas-powered Escalade. The substantial size makes it one of GM’s most imposing vehicles yet.
Power comes from an Ultium battery platform rated at over 200kWh. Cadillac estimates 450 miles of range, with the capability to add 100 miles from a 10-minute 350kW fast charge. The Escalade IQ can sprint from 0-60 mph in under 5 seconds thanks to a powerful 750 horsepower electric motor.
The interior matches the opulence expected from a Cadillac flagship. Front seats are separated by a pillar-to-pillar 55-inch LED display sprawling across the dashboard. Adding luxury are options like a 36-speaker AKG sound system and executive second row seating.
Cadillac packs the Escalade IQ with advanced tech like four-wheel steering, magnetic ride control, and a smaller touchscreen for climate and audio controls. A hands-free driver assistance system enables simple highway driving.
With production scheduled for next summer, the 2024 Escalade IQ represents Cadillac’s first entry into the high-end electric SUV segment. Combining extreme luxury and power in a futuristic design, the Escalade IQ aims to be the pinnacle of sustainable American luxury.
