Tesla has rolled out a new limited-time incentive allowing owners with free Supercharging to transfer the perk when ordering a new Model S, Model X, or Model Y by the end of 2023. The free Supercharging transfer eligibility applies to both inventory vehicles and new orders.
According to Tesla’s promotion details, the one-time Supercharging transfer must be completed between October 20 and December 31, 2023. The newly ordered vehicle needs to be delivered by the end of the year to qualify. The incentive is only valid for customers in North America.
This provides a great reason for longtime owners to upgrade older Model S and Model X vehicles to the latest technology and performance. Free unlimited Supercharging for the lifespan of the car remains a coveted benefit among Tesla fans.
For Tesla, the transfer option will help sustain demand as macro conditions weigh on consumers. It also allows converting older discounted models to new higher-margin variants like the Model S Plaid.
Overall, the free Supercharging transfer is well timed to keep order momentum and backlog healthy as Tesla wraps a turbulent 2023. With production scaling, inventory building, and demand-side incentives aligning, Tesla heads into the remainder of Q4 with recovering optimism.
