Chinese electric vehicle maker Zeekr has officially launched its new high-performance Zeekr 001 FR model. The all-electric supercar is priced at 769,000 RMB and promises exhilarating speed paired with cutting-edge technology.
Zeekr pitches the 001 FR as a “hunting” supercar, delivering ferocious acceleration and handling. Power comes from a dual-motor AWD system with cleverly stacked front and rear motors for greater efficiency.
Total output reaches a blistering 956 kW (1265 hp) enabling a 0-100 km/h time of just 2.07 seconds. Push it to 200 km/h and the 001 FR crosses the threshold in only 6.29 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h.
Providing juice for all this performance is a 100 kWh Kirin battery pack leveraging a silicon carbide 800V system for ultra-fast charging. Zeekr claims 10-80% replenishment requires only 15 minutes.
Adding to the race-ready persona are options like a swappable carbon fiber body kit, track-focused suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, and specially programmed driving modes for drifting and launch control antics.
Zeekr will also offer a Räikkönen Edition tuned to an outrageous 1300 hp set to launch next year. Named after F1 legend Kimi Räikkönen, it nods to the company’s motorsport connections as the EV performance offshoot of Geely.
Pricing starts at 769,000 RMB putting it in an ultra-premium bracket above the Nio ET7 and on par with the Porsche Taycan, features the “Räikkönen Mode” which will be launched in the first quarter of next year, priced at 60,000 RMB. Deliver a maximum power output of 1300 PS. Equipped with the 8295 intelligent cockpit computing platform, it comes with a 2.5K OLED central control screen and a 35.5-inch HUD, supporting ZAD automatic driving assistance.
As one of the first dedicated electric supercars from a Chinese automaker, the 001 FR provides an intriguing alternative for wealthy performance enthusiasts. While unknown, Zeekr’s Geely backing lends credibility.
Zeekr 001 FR sets an ambitious benchmark for Chinese EVs as both status symbols and technology flagships. As the market rapidly evolves, local startups like Zeekr aim to prove skeptics wrong about capabilities.
