Tesla recently rolled out a fun customization perk – the ability to set custom lock sounds for your vehicle! This lets drivers personalize the often-heard beeps and chirps when locking and unlocking their prized Tesla.
It’s easy to enable. Simply save a WAV audio file named “LockChime.wav” on a USB drive, with the file size under 1MB. Then plug the drive into your Tesla’s glovebox USB port and you’re all set, customized lock sound will now play whenever you hit the keyfob or Tesla app to secure your vehicle.
While a seemingly minor tweak, customizable lock chimes bring welcome personality to daily interactions with your EV. Instead of the standard robotic beep, you can make it really yours with fun tones, musical riffs or even meme soundbites to chuckle to.
It’s small touches like this that show Tesla’s continual efforts to improve owner experience, ability to inject personal flair and audio creativity into simple tasks demonstrates thoughtful understanding of what drivers want.
Go wild getting creative with custom lock sounds! It’s a little way to make your Tesla truly your own.
