Tesla has officially launched its FSD (Supervised) Early Access Program in the US, offering select owners the opportunity to test upcoming autonomous driving features before their wider release. The program, which began rolling out this week, appears in eligible users’ Tesla apps as a new enrollment option.
“Enroll to experience early features before they’re widely released. Provide your feedback and related vehicle data to help make the next release our best yet,” reads the invitation displayed to qualified owners.
Not all Tesla owners with FSD capability will immediately see the invitation, as the company appears to be implementing a gradual rollout across North America. For those granted access, the program adds an “Early Access” button to the Tesla app interface, which displays enrollment status and provides an option to leave the program if desired.
Alongside the FSD (Supervised) Early Access Program launch, Tesla has implemented significant changes to its Safety Score system, which determines driver eligibility for various FSD features. The updated metrics now include “Excessive Speeding,” measured as the proportion of time spent driving above 85 mph or moving significantly faster than vehicles ahead.
This adjustment represents Tesla’s ongoing effort to balance technological advancement with driving safety as the FSD (Supervised) Early Access Program enters public testing.
The introduction of this program marks a strategic shift in how Tesla approaches feature testing and deployment. By establishing a formal early access channel, the company can gather more comprehensive real-world data while giving enthusiastic owners first access to cutting-edge capabilities.
For Tesla owners wondering about their eligibility for the FSD (Supervised) Early Access Program, the best advice is simple: check your Tesla app regularly, as invitations continue to roll out across the user base.
