Tesla 2025 Spring Update 2025.14.1: Camera Features Skip HW3 Vehicles with Intel Atom Chips

Tesla Spring Software Update 2025

Tesla’s 2025 Spring Update (2025.14.1) introduces an important differentiation for owners of vehicles equipped with HW3 AMD and Intel Atom processors. While these legacy vehicles will receive most new features, certain camera enhancements will remain exclusive to newer hardware configurations.

Owners of Tesla vehicles running HW3 with Intel Atom chips should note two specific camera improvements they won’t receive in the Spring Update. Update won’t enable recording from the vehicle’s side cameras (B-Pillar) to Dashcam and Sentry clips, which would have increased total camera views from four to six. Additionally, these vehicles won’t benefit from the enhanced rear view camera that offers both a wider field of vision and improved visibility of rear cross traffic.

Despite these camera-specific exclusions, Tesla maintains strong support for its older vehicles. HW3 with Intel Atom chips will still receive almost all other new features included in the Spring Update. Continued support for vehicles up to six years old demonstrates Tesla’s commitment to extending software functionality across generations of its fleet.

Owners uncertain about their vehicle’s hardware can easily verify their configuration through the Tesla interface. Simply select ‘Controls,’ navigate to ‘Software,’ and then view ‘Additional Vehicle Information’ to confirm your Autopilot computer type.
