Mercedes-Benz Vision V: Electric Luxury MPV Reimagines Family Transportation

Mercedes-Benz Vision V

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its most ambitious electric vehicle concept yet—the Vision V, an all-electric luxury MPV that transforms how we think about premium family transportation. This isn’t just another concept car; it’s a preview of the upcoming production VLS model that will redefine the segment when it arrives in 2026.

The Vision V breaks free from conventional MPV styling constraints with a silhouette that’s more coupe than minivan. Its front end commands attention with circular LED lighting elements arranged in a distinctive pattern that Mercedes calls “muscle-like.” Perhaps most striking is the illuminated three-pointed star emblem—the first of its kind in the company’s history.

As passengers approach, the vehicle initiates a welcoming light show, bringing the grille to life through a series of sleek LED strips that replace traditional chrome elements. Rear features an equally impressive light signature with over 450 three-dimensional luminous louvers forming a continuous strip that functions as both tail and brake lights.

While the exterior makes a bold statement, the interior truly showcases Mercedes-Benz’s vision for future luxury travel. The Vision V transforms the concept of in-car entertainment with a massive 65-inch 4K screen that rises dramatically from the floor upon entry. Visual centerpiece works in concert with 42 speakers and seven projectors to create what Mercedes calls a “private lounge” experience.

The dashboard spans the entire width of the cabin, incorporating three seamless screens into a single digital panel. For rear passengers, two futuristic seats crafted from crystal-white Nappa leather and silk can recline completely for maximum comfort. Even the fold-out table serves multiple purposes, including transforming into an elegant chessboard.

The Vision V will be built on Mercedes-Benz’s dedicated Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA) platform, featuring an advanced 800-volt high-voltage system for rapid charging capabilities. Mercedes has confirmed both single and dual-motor configurations will be available, with an estimated range of up to 311 miles.

The vehicle’s windows serve double duty as projection surfaces, enabling a 360-degree immersive cinematic experience that’s unprecedented in automotive design.

While concept vehicles often showcase unrealistic features, Mercedes-Benz insists that many of the Vision V’s innovations will make it to the production VLS model scheduled for 2026. The company sees this vehicle as a statement piece in its expanding electric portfolio.
