Tesla has officially launched its first third-party owned Superchargers in North America. The company’s Director of Supercharging, Max de Zegher, confirmed the milestone on X, marking a shift in how businesses can deploy charging infrastructure while maintaining Tesla’s technical standards.

Inaugural third-party Tesla Superchargers opened in Land O’ Lakes, Florida, featuring eight charging stalls. According to Tesla Charging’s official X account, these represent the first North American installations that are Tesla-managed but third-party owned. Distinction matters—businesses now have the option to purchase and brand their own charging equipment while leveraging Tesla’s proven technology.

Companies interested in deploying third-party Tesla Superchargers must commit to a minimum order of four units. Each installation includes identical hardware, software, pricing controls, and service support found across Tesla’s existing network. Standardization ensures consistency for drivers regardless of ownership.

Transition to third-party ownership doesn’t compromise user experience. These white-label chargers integrate seamlessly with Tesla vehicle software, including route planning features. When planning a road trip, the navigation system will recognize these locations as standard Supercharger stops, no special considerations required.

De Zegher positioned the offering as a competitive advantage for businesses investing in charging infrastructure. His statement emphasized that companies should “do it with the best hardware, software & service.” The approach allows organizations to customize branding while avoiding the technical challenges of developing proprietary charging solutions.

Tesla’s move opens commercial opportunities for retail locations, hotels, and other venues seeking to attract EV drivers. Rather than partnering with third-party networks, businesses can now operate under Tesla’s ecosystem, potentially capturing customer traffic while maintaining brand visibility through customized charger designs.
