Tesla FSD Drives 9,000 Miles Without Intervention, Owner Documents Coast-to-Coast Journey

Tesla FSD V14.2 Drives 9,000 Miles Without Intervention

A Tesla owner has achieved what many considered impossible just months ago. David Moss, who owns a 2025 Model 3 Premium Long Range RWD, has documented over 9,000 consecutive miles of completely intervention-free driving using Tesla FSD Supervised. Milestone represents a significant moment for autonomous driving technology and suggests the system has reached unprecedented reliability.

David shared his progress on X, stating he’s traveled through more than 20 states over the past month. System has handled every aspect of driving, from highway navigation to parking maneuvers and Supercharger stops. “This journey has taken me to over 20 states & has done all my driving for over the last month including all parking & supercharger stops,” David wrote.

The owner’s coast-to-coast challenge has now surpassed 1,589 miles, with the vehicle autonomously navigating to his hotel. He emphasized the streak includes “no engagements even for parking or charging,” which addresses two scenarios that have historically required driver intervention.

Tesla FSD V14 Supervised builds on the company’s computer-vision and neural network architecture. Represents years of development and billions of miles of real-world data collection. Unlike previous versions that struggled with complex scenarios, this iteration appears capable of handling diverse road conditions and traffic patterns without human input.

FSD v14’s performance in David’s extended test suggests Tesla has addressed many edge cases that previously triggered disengagements. However, experts caution that supervised autonomous driving still requires attentive drivers ready to take control.

Can the technology sustain this performance? question remains whether Tesla FSD can maintain this level of performance across all driving environments. David’s journey provides compelling evidence, yet individual experiences vary based on route complexity and local conditions. As more owners test the limits of this technology, the industry watches closely to see if intervention-free driving becomes the norm rather than the exception with Tesla FSD Supervised.
