This strategic move suggests that Tesla is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to perfect its autonomous driving technology before unveiling its latest innovation to the world.

According to Green, a prominent Tesla enthusiast and data analyst, the company has been intensifying its data collection activities around Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, where the Robotaxi platform is set to be unveiled. This heightened focus on the event’s venue and surrounding areas is a clear indication that Tesla is leaving no detail to chance.

Green’s observations extend beyond the Burbank region, with increased data gathering reported near Hollywood restaurants, Supercharger construction sites, and various locations in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Tesla’s approach to data collection is noteworthy. The company’s system filters out 99% of the irrelevant mileage, focusing on the 1% of data that is crucial for training its models. This strategic sifting process allows Tesla to extract the most valuable insights from the vast amounts of data it collects, ensuring that its development efforts are laser-focused and efficient.

In contrast, Tesla’s dedicated AD (Autonomous Driving) test fleet is designed to gather data for specific scenarios, resulting in a much higher proportion of high-quality data.
