2024 Acura ZDX EV Unveiled with 500 Horsepower and 325 Mile Range

2024-Acura-ZDX

The highly anticipated 2024 Acura ZDX EV has officially debuted during Monterey Car Week, showcasing an enticing mix of performance, range and tech. Serving as Acura’s first fully electric vehicle, the ZDX aims to blend sustainability with the brand’s sporty DNA.

Two variants will be offered – a standard ZDX starting at $60,000 and a high-performance Type S model at $70,000. Deliveries are slated for early 2024.

The unveiled ZDX model appears near-production, with a more subdued look than the wild concept. The funky multi-level front has been toned down, now sporting a conventional grille. Traditional door handles replace the concept’s electronic pop-outs.

Inside, drivers are greeted with a stylish cabin combining digital displays and physical controls. A 10.3-inch digital cluster and 11.3-inch touchscreen run Acura’s latest Google-powered infotainment suite, with Google Assistant, Maps and more.

Smartphone integration comes courtesy of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A Bang & Olufsen premium audio system provides rich sound, while a slightly canted center console focuses controls towards the driver.

Cutting-edge driver aids include emergency braking for collision avoidance, blind spot monitoring with steering assist, and rear pedestrian detection – all part of the AcuraWatch 360+ system.

Performance matters too in the ZDX EV. Rapid charging adds 130 km in just 10 minutes, while total range spans 325 miles, standard single-motor ZDX dishes out 340 horsepower for brisk acceleration.

Meanwhile the dual-motor Type S doubles down with a blistering 500 horsepower, rocketing to 60 mph in under 4 seconds. Despite the power, range still reaches a respectable 460 km.

Acura has tapped into its racing roots to infuse the ZDX with athletic handling and dynamics to match the potent electric performance. This fusion of sustainability and excitement exemplifies the future vision for the Acura brand.

With the 2024 ZDX, Acura aims to prove electrification, luxury and exhilarating driving can successfully coexist. By honoring core brand values while embracing EVs, the ZDX sets the stage for an electrified future that entices performance enthusiasts and eco-conscious buyers alike.

The production-ready ZDX on display hints that Acura’s first dedicated EV is nearly here. Come 2024, consumers seeking a premium electric crossover boasting equal parts tech, range and excitement can add the ZDX to their shopping list. Acura is gearing up to make quite the electrified entrance.
