The wait is over – Tesla has officially unveiled the all-new Model 3 highland in North America! Now available for order, the refreshed electric sedan brings major upgrades while maintaining the same affordable pricing.
New Model 3 Highland Two trim levels are offered:
- Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive: $38,990 (272 mile range)
- Model 3 Long Range: $45,990 (341 mile range)
Despite a host of new features and technologies, Tesla held the line on Model 3 pricing for North American customers. The base Rear-Wheel Drive model sticks to its $38,990 starting price. And the Long Range model still comes in at $45,990.
So what’s new for the refreshed Model 3? The exterior receives subtle styling tweaks for a sleeker, more aerodynamic silhouette. Inside, open-pore wood décor and heated steering wheel provide more premium feels. New AMD Ryzen processors deliver up to 20% faster infotainment responsiveness.
Technically, the new Long Range model boasts 8 more miles of range than before, now up to 341 miles on a full charge. Enhanced materials and cold-rolled steel provide greater body rigidity and noise isolation. And Tesla’s latest silicon carbide power electronics allow for quicker charging.
Despite all these upgrades, the revamped Model 3 unfortunately does not qualify for the $7,500 US federal tax credit. That’s because the lithium-ion battery cells are the same as the outgoing model, which already exceeded its allotment. But state and local incentives may still apply.
With order books now open, North American deliveries of the refreshed Model 3 will start by the end of January. As part of the launch, the Model 3 has been removed from Tesla’s referral program.
