Tesla Launches Model Y Rear Seat Upgrade

Tesla has recently launched an exciting new upgrade for Model Y owners in China, a rear seat retrofit that provides an extra 1.2 inches of legroom in the backseat, price tag of 2,800 yuan ($410), is this new legroom-boosting retrofit worth it?

The new Model Y rear seat upgrade was quietly introduced by Tesla China for domestic owners only. It adds 3 cm (just over an inch) of leg support, which can make a noticeable difference in comfort, especially for taller passengers. The retrofit is currently only available through Tesla service centers in China.

While an extra inch or two of legroom sounds nice, is it worth shelling out $410 for? That’s a question many Chinese Model Y owners are likely pondering. On one hand, the upgrade could make road trips or ride-sharing services more comfortable for rear passengers.

What do you think – if you owned a Model Y, would you pay over $400 to give your rear passengers slightly more legroom? Let me know @Gearmusk
