In a surprise X tweet, Drew Baglino, Tesla’s SVP of Powertrain and Energy, dropped a tantalizing hint about faster Cybertruck charging on the horizon.

It turns out Tesla identified a “corner case bug” that capped charging at a measly 100A for Cybertrucks starting a charge with an empty battery. Kyle Conner can attest after draining his ride to 0% a few times, that limiter put a damper on quick top-ups.

Baglino reveals that bug has been squashed, with a fix rolling out next week to uncork those charging speeds. “Cybertruck charge curve improvements are coming OTA later this quarter to unlock up to 154 miles recovered in 15 minutes,” he teased, adding “It’s a new battery tech rollout.”
