Tesla Will Be Opening Over 100 New Supercharger Stalls in NYC 2024

100 New Supercharger Stalls in NYC 2024

Tesla is going full throttle to expand its Supercharger network in New York City in 2024. Tesla plans to open over 100 new Supercharger stalls across Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island over the year.

Tesla’s new pre-fabricated Supercharger units (PSUs) let them install bank after bank of chargers in just days once site prep is complete. From delivery to opening, the process now takes a mere four days – light years faster than traditional construction.

“These pre-fab innovations fundamentally drive down cost per post deployed,” beamed Drew Baglino, Tesla’s SVP of Powertrain and Energy. He added the PSUs, complete with integrated lighting and solar canopies, “bring more charging value at lower cost for our customers.”

The NYC Supercharger boom follows Tesla solving tricky permit purgatory that stalled many previous station launches. Crossing that hurdle unlocked the floodgates, but finding space in the concrete jungle remains the biggest roadblock. “Fingers crossed for more pull-thru locations!”
