XPeng Motors is gearing up to launch its latest offering model MONA M03, set to hit the roads on August 27.

XPeng Motors Chairman He Xiaopeng shared insights into model MONA M03 dynamic characteristics, vehicle boasts a remarkably tight 5.3-meter minimum turning radius, complemented by a responsive 14.2 steering ratio. These specifications promise exceptional maneuverability in urban environments.

The MONA M03 doesn’t skimp on safety and comfort. It’s equipped with BOSCH’s IPB intelligent integrated braking system and CST comfort braking technology, ensuring smooth and efficient stops. In terms of handling, the vehicle demonstrates a roll gradient of 3.5°/g during lane changes, indicating stable cornering performance.

During steady-state circular testing on a 30-meter radius, MONA M03 achieved speeds of 65 km/h while maintaining a lateral acceleration of at least 0.9g. This performance metric underscores the vehicle’s stability and grip under demanding cornering conditions.

MONA M03 comes standard with an impressive array of sensors, including 4 surround-view cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, 2 rear side cameras, 2 millimeter-wave radars, a monocular camera, and a driving recorder. This comprehensive sensor suite forms the backbone of the vehicle’s advanced driver assistance systems.

XPeng has equipped the MONA M03 with a 3D lane-level perception map for smart driving. This technology supports features such as LCC (Lane Centering Control), ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), APA (Automated Parking Assist), and a 360-degree camera system. The vehicle also boasts all-scenario intelligent parking capabilities.

Utilizing the latest generation of lithium iron phosphate batteries, MONA M03 achieves a CLTC range of 620 kilometers, its energy efficiency is noteworthy, with an average consumption of 11.5 kWh per 100 kilometers.

Packs a punch with its electric motor producing up to 160 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque, motor’s peak efficiency of 94.6% is a testament to XPeng’s commitment to maximizing energy utilization.

As XPeng celebrates its tenth anniversary, MONA M03 launch comes at a critical juncture. With the company facing sluggish sales growth—having sold just 63k cars from January to July, meeting only 22.6% of its annual goal—the success of this new model could be pivotal.

The MONA M03, with its advanced features and competitive pricing, starts at under 135,900 RMB ($20k), represents XPeng’s bid to rev up its market performance. As deliveries begin, all eyes will be on whether this technological tour de force can help XPeng navigate out of its current sales slump and into a more electrifying future.
