NIO and Sinopec have inked a game-changing partnership agreement. This collaboration aims to provide charging services, effectively addressing one of the most significant hurdles in EV adoption: charging infrastructure.
NIO users are now poised to enjoy unprecedented access to Sinopec’s extensive network of charging stations. Through a seamless integration with the NIO App, in-car systems, and Power Up App, drivers can easily locate and utilize Sinopec’s charging facilities across the country. This integration comes just in time for the upcoming China National Day holiday, promising a smoother travel experience for NIO owners.
The partnership between NIO and Sinopec has already borne fruit, with 279 joint charging and battery swap stations established to date. This impressive network spans 29 provinces across China and includes:
- 119 battery swap stations
- 160 charging stations
This collaboration is rapidly expanding the charging and battery swap infrastructure, offering NIO users broader access to fast and reliable charging options.
Sinopec isn’t just dipping its toes into the EV market; it’s diving in headfirst. The company has reaffirmed its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions and aspires to become a world-leading clean energy and chemical company.
A key component of this strategy is the development of integrated service stations offering a range of energy options, including oil, gas, hydrogen, and electricity.
Looking ahead, Sinopec has set its sights on an ambitious target: by 2025, the company plans to have constructed 5k battery swap and charging stations. This goal underscores the scale of Sinopec’s commitment to the EV sector and its determination to play a pivotal role in China’s clean energy transition.
