Tesla’s Cybertruck, electric pickup that’s been turning heads since its unveiling, is entering a new phase. The company has begun assigning VIN numbers for non-Foundation Series Cybertrucks, signaling the start of deliveries for the $79,990 version this month. This move marks a significant step in Tesla’s production ramp-up and brings the Cybertruck closer to mainstream adoption.

Eagle-eyed Tesla enthusiasts have spotted some notable differences in the non-Foundation Series Cybertrucks. Greggertruck, a Cybertruck owner shared insights on the modifications.

Perhaps the most noticeable change is the absence of Foundation Series badging on the vehicle’s sides, clearly demarcating these models from their limited-edition predecessors. Inside the cabin, the lower center console has shed its silver inlay, opting for a more uniform appearance. Utility-focused buyers will note the removal of bed rings, potentially impacting cargo management options.

Despite these changes, Tesla maintains its commitment to advanced driver assistance systems, with standard Autopilot included in all non-Foundation Series Cybertrucks. This consistency in core technology offerings underscores Tesla’s focus on safety and semi-autonomous driving capabilities across its lineup.

Production at Giga Texas appears to be ramping up. Drone footage from the facility has captured what observers believe to be groups of these updated models in the outbound lot, alongside intriguing sightings of wind tunnel testing with a white Cybertruck variant.

With deliveries of the $79,990 version slated to begin this month, Tesla is poised to expand the Cybertruck’s presence on roads across the country. This pricing strategy positions the vehicle competitively in the growing electric pickup market, balancing its unique design and features against established competitors.

As Tesla ramps up production and delivery of these new Cybertrucks, the electric pickup market is poised for a shake-up. Will the Cybertruck’s unique design and features be enough to dominate the segment?
