Tesla Halts Cybertruck Deliveries After Exterior Trims Detach From Electric Pickup

Non-Foundation cybertruck

Tesla has put Cybertruck deliveries on hold following reports that exterior trims are detaching from the electric pickup. According to Tesla delivery agents, a containment hold has been implemented while the company investigates the issue affecting its supposedly Cybertruck.

Customers with scheduled delivery dates are receiving cancellation notices through Tesla’s website, with no immediate rescheduling information provided. This development marks another setback for the Tesla Cybertruck rollout, which has already faced numerous production challenges.

Frustrated buyers have taken to forums and social media to share their experiences. On the Cybertruckownersclub Forum, one customer wrote: “I am waiting for the delivery of my truck and had a delivery date for this coming weekend, however, I received a message from the Tesla website saying the delivery date was canceled and it will contact me once available.”

When this customer contacted their Tesla location, staff informed them that “the truck is at the site just needs additional inspection.”

Another Cybertruck buyer reported a similar situation: “I just had the same thing happen for this Saturday, though I didn’t follow up to hear that it’s due for additional inspection. My guess is they found more problems with that batch.”

The primary concern appears to involve cantrail trimsā€”decorative elements covering the roof ledge of the Tesla Cybertruck. These components have reportedly been detaching from vehicles already in customer hands, prompting Tesla to inspect undelivered units before releasing them.

The containment hold reportedly began last weekend, with numerous delivery appointments canceled across the country. Tesla has not publicly commented on when deliveries will resume or what specific repairs are being implemented.

For a vehicle marketed heavily on its durability and “bulletproof” exterior, flying trim pieces represent not just a quality control issue but a potential brand reputation challenge for the Cybertruck.
