Tesla New “CyberCanopy” Supercharger Coming to Roswell – UFO-Themed Design Revealed

Tesla's New "CyberCanopy" Supercharger Coming to Roswell

Tesla has officially revealed plans for a uniquely designed Supercharger station in Roswell, New Mexico that’s turning heads with its sci-fi aesthetic. According to Max de Zegher, Tesla’s Director of Supercharging, the company aims to create destination-worthy charging locations.

“We want to build a few Superchargers cool enough to be worthy of the trip itself. Wish we could have kept it under wraps for longer, but submittal was needed for Planning Approval,” de Zegher stated.

The new Supercharger will feature what Tesla calls a “CyberCanopy” – a distinctive covering that incorporates both solar panels and RGB lighting. This isn’t just any charging station; it’s designed to evoke the front light bar of the Cybertruck, creating a cohesive brand aesthetic across Tesla’s product ecosystem.

The planned Supercharger will be situated at the Whataburger on North Main Street in Roswell – a city already famous for its UFO lore. Tesla has leaned into this connection with a “Cyber-UFO” themed design that should fit right in with the local culture.

Plans indicate the site will house eight charging stalls positioned under the CyberCanopy, which will include RGB lighting fixtures and an impressive 20.88kW solar array.

While the original drawings for this Tesla Supercharger date back to 2023, recent information suggests the company is redesigning the site internally. Could mean the final implementation might feature Tesla’s latest V4 stalls and cabinets.

No permits have been filed yet for the Roswell Supercharger, suggesting construction isn’t imminent. However, the public reveal of these plans indicates Tesla is moving forward with the concept.

When completed, this installation will likely become a landmark for Tesla owners and attract visitors who want to experience the next generation of “super” charging.
