Tesla Launches HarmonyOS App in China With Remote Controls, Early Access Now Live

Tesla

Tesla’s expanding its digital ecosystem in China. The company’s launched early access for a HarmonyOS version of its app, marking a strategic shift in how it serves customers using Huawei’s operating system. Isn’t just another app update. It’s Tesla positioning itself within China’s rapidly growing alternative mobile platform.

Tesla HarmonyOS app hit Huawei AppGallery for testing at version 4.52.1 (3761). Feature set includes real-time charging status monitoring, remote start and stop capabilities for charging sessions, and climate preconditioning, whether the vehicle’s sitting in a garage or parked outside.

Distance doesn’t limit functionality here. Owners can lock or unlock their Tesla from anywhere, track vehicle location and movement, and even help passengers adjust media playback settings remotely. Need to find your car in a crowded lot? Flash the lights or sound the horn through the app.

Phone key support represents a significant addition to the Tesla experience on HarmonyOS. App transforms compatible Huawei devices into vehicle access keys, eliminating the need for physical key fobs in many scenarios. Users can also control the panoramic sunroof, schedule service appointments, request roadside assistance, and push software updates to their vehicles regardless of location.

December 29, GearMusk has post a news, analysis of the v4.52.0 HarmonyOS package reveals references to Tesla may add Apple wallet car key support.
