DJI, the renowned drone manufacturer, has teamed up with BYD to provide advanced assisted driving technology for the Chinese automaker’s latest model, the BYD Hiace. As part of the collaboration, DJI Automotive will offer high-level assisted driving technology solutions to BYD. First model to benefit from the partnership will be the Hiace, a pure electric SUV that is set to launch later this year.
Key features of the collaboration is the development of NOA – an urban NOA solution that does not require high-precision maps. DJI Automotive’s entry-level urban NOA solution uses a purely visual route, relying on 9 cameras and an 80TOPS computing power unit, technology eliminates the need for high-precision maps and enables parking assistance, memory parking, memory driving, high-speed pilot driving, city pilot driving, and other functions.
BYD has already made a name for itself in the automotive industry with its marine life series, which includes the B-class car Seal and A0-class Seagull.
