Tesla Mobile Connector or Wall Connector, What's the Wiser Call?

Best Western is teaming up with Tesla to electrify its properties for the modern motoring era, hospitality group plans to deploy Tesla EV charging stations at some 2,000 North American hotels starting in 2024. It also aims to eventually expand the initiative internationally across its portfolio of independent hotel brands.

In September news, Tesla and Hilton plan 20,000 universal Wall Connectors Chargers at hotels starting 2024, Tesla’s Senior Director of Charging Infrastructure, said, “Installing infrastructure at popular destinations, like Hilton hotels, enables EV owners to charge where they park, meaning no unnecessary refueling stops along their journey.”

Best Western properties will soon sport sleek, high-powered Universal Connectors from Tesla. Designed to charge all North American EV models, these stations deliver seamless charging for Tesla drivers and non-Tesla owners alike.

For Best Western, the Tesla collaboration caps off years of escalating commitments to eco-friendly travel. The company currently runs over 100 LEED-certified hotels and actively works to reduce its environmental footprint across operations. Now it takes aim at emissions from guest transportation as EV adoption accelerates.

The planned charging station rollout aligns with Best Western’s customer-first approach according to Michael Morton, VP of Brand Management. “This collaboration with Tesla underscores Best Western’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and dedication to delivering exceptional guest experiences,” Morton explained.

“As the hospitality industry evolves, we will continue to blend eco-conscious initiatives with the service, value and comfort that guests expect from Best Western.”

By providing convenient charging access, Best Western both caters to its guests and nudges them toward emission-free vehicles. The Tesla Powerpack-supported stations ensure travelers can venture cross-country with an expanding green charging network in place.

The companies did not share further specifics on locations slated for the initial 2024 North American charging station launch. But with vast portfolios stretching across the US and Canada, expect the Best Western-Tesla alliance to reshape road trip routes in years to come.
