Zhuoyu (DJI Automotive) Teams Up with NVIDIA DRIVE Thor to Develop Self-driving Solutions

Zhuoyu and NVIDIA Partner for Next-Gen Intelligent Driving

The automotive industry is on the cusp of a major transformation, with intelligent driving solutions at the forefront. Zhuoyu, formerly known as DJI Automotive, has partnered with NVIDIA using DRIVE Thor 1000 TOPS to develop cutting-edge technology that promises to redefine our driving experience.

On September 20, 2024, Zhuoyu and NVIDIA officially announced their collaboration during a partnership ceremony. The cornerstone of this alliance? NVIDIA’s next-generation centralized vehicle computing platform, DRIVE Thor. This powerhouse boasts an impressive 1,000 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of computing power, a significant leap forward from previous hardware limitations.

The Zhuoyu-NVIDIA partnership isn’t just about raw power, though. It’s about harnessing that power to create intelligent driving solutions that are both sophisticated and practical. With DRIVE Thor as its foundation, Zhuoyu aims to build a flagship system that could set new industry standards.

In June 2024, DJI Automotive rebranded as Zhuoyu, positioning itself as a leading provider of intelligent driving technologies. This move wasn’t just a name change; it signaled the company’s intent to dominate the automotive AI space. Already, Zhuoyu’s technology has found its way into vehicles from major automakers like Volkswagen, SAIC Wuling, and Chery Automobile.

Zhuoyu’s core product, the Chengxing Platform, stands out for its versatility and cost-effectiveness. Using a vision-only solution, it’s compatible with various chip platforms, making it an attractive option for automakers looking to integrate advanced driving assistance systems without breaking the bank.

Looking ahead to 2025, Zhuoyu has ambitious plans. The company intends to leverage NVIDIA DRIVE Thor’s immense computing power to push the boundaries of what’s possible in intelligent driving. This includes advancing the commercialization of large-scale models and digital world simulations – technologies that could dramatically improve the safety and efficiency of autonomous vehicles.
