Tesla FSD V14.1 Finally Arrives: Emergency Vehicle Detection, New Speed Profiles & Arrival Options

Tesla FSD

Tesla has finally begun rolling out FSD V14.1 to vehicles, marking the first major update to the company’s autonomous driving software in almost a year. Update brings a substantial list of new features and improvements that push Tesla’s self-driving capabilities forward in meaningful ways.

The update introduces several key features that enhance both functionality and user control. Most notably, Tesla FSD V14.1 now includes Arrival Options, allowing drivers to select specific parking preferences—whether that’s in a parking lot, on the street, in a driveway, at a parking garage, or curbside.

Emergency vehicle handling has been significantly improved, with the system now programmed to yield or pull over when encountering police cars, fire trucks, or ambulances. Addresses a critical safety concern that previous versions struggled with.

Perhaps most impressive is the integration of navigation and routing directly into the vision-based neural network, enabling real-time adjustments for road closures and detours without driver intervention.

Tesla FSD V14.1 offers greater personalization through an additional Speed Profile option. New “SLOTH” profile operates at lower speeds with more conservative lane selection than the existing “CHILL” mode. Driver profiles now have a stronger influence on the system’s behavior—the more assertive the profile, the higher the max speed.

Reliability improvements include better handling of system faults with smoother recovery from degraded operation. Update also adds automatic narrow field washing for front cameras and alerts for interior windshield residue that might affect camera visibility.

Tesla indicates future updates will focus on overall smoothness, “sentience,” and improved parking capabilities. As Tesla FSD continues evolving, V14.1 represents a significant step forward—proving the wait was worth the drive.
