Tesla’s humanoid robot Optimus has achieved a significant milestone, demonstrating impressive balance control while walking on challenging terrain without visual input. The latest test footage reveals the robot’s ability to navigate mulched ground, maintaining stability through sophisticated sensor integration and rapid neural processing.

The robot’s performance marks a notable advancement in bipedal robotics. Operating solely on non-visual sensors and an embedded computer system, Optimus processes environmental data in approximately 2-3 milliseconds. This rapid computation enables real-time adjustments to maintain balance, even when encountering unstable surfaces.
