Tesla New Model Y Long Range RWD: More Range, Faster Acceleration, Same Price

Tesla New Model Y Long Range RWD

Tesla has quietly rolled out a new Model Y Long Range RWD variant that outperforms its predecessor in key metrics while maintaining the same price tag.

The new Tesla Model Y Long Range RWD arrives with impressive specs that should catch the attention of EV shoppers. Priced at $44,990 before incentives ($37,490 after applying the federal tax credit), latest iteration pushes the envelope on what consumers can expect from an entry-level electric crossover.

Tesla has managed to extract 357 miles of range from the new Model Y Long Range RWD—20 miles more than the 337-mile range of the previous version. Improvement comes alongside a substantial performance boost, with the 0-60 mph time dropping from 6.5 seconds to a much quicker 5.4 seconds.

The timing of this launch appears strategic as Tesla works to maintain its competitive edge in the increasingly crowded electric SUV market. By enhancing the Model Y Long Range RWD’s capabilities without increasing its price, Tesla is clearly responding to growing competition from traditional automakers and EV startups alike.

Customers won’t need to wait long to get behind the wheel, either. Tesla indicates deliveries will begin in just 3-5 weeks.
