Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV 2025: Now Tesla Supercharger Compatible

Hyundai's 2025 Ioniq 5

Hyundai is revving up the electric vehicle (EV) market with its 2025 Ioniq 5, introducing a slew of upgrades and a new ‘Off-Road’ XRT trim. The standout feature? Native Tesla Supercharger support, a game-changer for U.S. models.

The 2025 Ioniq 5 isn’t just a facelift; it’s a comprehensive upgrade. Hyundai has boosted battery capacity by up to 8% and extended range by up to 7%. These improvements position the Ioniq 5 as a formidable contender in the increasingly competitive EV market.

Hyundai hasn’t neglected aesthetics in its pursuit of performance. The 2025 model sports new bumpers, a redesigned spoiler, and more aerodynamically efficient wheels. For those who appreciate a matte finish, three new color options are now available.

Inside, the Ioniq 5 receives a tech-focused makeover. The climate control layout has been revamped, USB-C ports have been added, and physical seat heater controls make a welcome return. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration rounds out the interior upgrades, ensuring seamless connectivity for drivers.

Perhaps the most significant upgrade is the inclusion of a built-in North American Charging System (NACS) plug for U.S. models. This addition grants Ioniq 5 owners native access to over 2,500 Tesla Supercharger sites with nearly 30,000 stalls across North America and Canada, dramatically expanding the vehicle’s charging network.

Eager drivers won’t have to wait long to get behind the wheel. The upgraded 2025 Ioniq 5 models, including the new XRT trim, are set to arrive at Hyundai dealerships this fall.

As Hyundai charges ahead with these upgrades, it’s clear they’re not just keeping pace with the EV market—they’re aiming to lead the pack. With Tesla compatibility in its arsenal, 2025 Ioniq 5 is poised to supercharge Hyundai’s position in the electric vehicle race.
