Tesla’s Giga Shanghai wrapped up 2025 with its strongest monthly performance yet. According to fresh data from the China Passenger Car Association, facility delivered over 97,171 vehicles in December, an 11% jump from November’s figures.
Numbers tell a compelling story. Tesla’s Giga Shanghai operation delivered approximately 851k vehicles throughout 2025, accounting for roughly 52% of the company’s worldwide output of 1.636 million units, data from Cailian Press reveals. What’s more, domestic Chinese sales reached about 94k units in December, representing a 13% year-over-year increase.
This performance reinforces Tesla’s Shanghai factory as the automaker’s largest export hub globally. Facility’s significance isn’t new, back in 2024, it delivered 916k vehicles, already contributing half of Tesla’s total deliveries worldwide.
On December 30, 2025, Tesla Asia announced via X that the company’s 9 millionth vehicle had rolled off the production line at the Shanghai facility. Milestone underscores the plant’s operational efficiency and its central role in Tesla’s manufacturing strategy.

Meanwhile, delivery timelines for Tesla China’s Model 3/Y variants have been updated. Model 3 now shows a 2-4 week delivery window across all trims. For Model Y lineup, RWD are available within 1-3 weeks, while long-range RWD and all-wheel-drive configurations require 4-5 weeks. Model Y Long Range is slated for 2-4 weeks.
Tesla’s Giga Shanghai continues expanding its footprint as a critical manufacturing node. Facility serves both domestic Chinese buyers and international markets, shipping vehicles to regions including Europe and Asia-Pacific. With December’s record-breaking performance and consistent year-over-year growth, Giga Shanghai has proven it can truly deliver on Tesla’s global ambitions.
