NIO unveiled its latest masterpiece, NIO ET9 executive flagship. Electric vehicle represents a convergence of cutting-edge technology and sophisticated design, setting new benchmarks in the luxury EV segment. Designed by Kris Tomasson, the vehicle reflects a commitment to pushing boundaries and reimagining mobility, with its “aero-body design” embodying both elegance and authority.
The ET9’s dual-motor powertrain configuration showcases impressive capabilities, combining a 180kW front motor with a robust 340kW rear motor. Powerhouse delivers 700N·m of torque, propelling the vehicle from standstill to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds – remarkable numbers for a luxury sedan of this size.
At the heart of the ET9’s performance lies its advanced 900V architecture, pushing voltage capabilities to 925V. The integration of a 5C high-voltage fast-charging battery system, utilizing proprietary 46105 cylindrical cells, achieves an exceptional energy density of 292Wh/kg. These innovations translate to real-world efficiency, with power consumption at just 16.2kWh per 100km.
Despite its imposing 5325mm length and class-leading 2017mm width, the ET9 demonstrates remarkable agility. The engineering team achieved a turning radius matching a Mini Cooper’s maneuverability – an engineering feat that challenges conventional automotive design principles.

The vehicle’s exterior features thoughtfully integrated 23-inch wheels with floating wheel caps, complemented by an intelligent electric rear wing. These elements work in harmony to enhance both aesthetic appeal and aerodynamic efficiency.
The ET9’s technological prowess extends beyond conventional automotive systems. Three strategically positioned LiDAR sensors provide comprehensive 360-degree environmental awareness, capable of detecting objects from 10cm to 150m away.
The introduction of NIO’s proprietary “Shenji NX9031” 5nm chips marks a significant advancement in automotive computing. These processors incorporate over 50 billion transistors, supporting 32-core processing capabilities. The central computing platform 2.0 orchestrates six crucial domains: driving, cockpit, chassis, body, power, and cloud integration.
The ET9’s interior redefines luxury with its PanoCinema system, featuring synchronized OLED displays supporting Dolby Vision.
The sophisticated 8.2.4.8 audio configuration, powered by 35 speakers and 2800W output, creates an unparalleled acoustic environment. Innovative features like headrest speakers and dual subwoofers, combined with Dirac DSU technology, transform the cabin into a mobile concert hall.
The ET9’s practical innovations include an adjustable ride height system and a sensor-activated electric front trunk, enhancing everyday usability while maintaining its executive character.
As NIO charts its course through the automotive landscape, the ET9 stands as a testament to what’s possible when innovation meets ambition. Starts at 788,000 RMB ($108K), with the price reduced to 660,000 RMB ($90.5K) under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) rental plan. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in March 2025.
