Tesla CEO Elon Musk just casually dropped some major news on Twitter about the company’s Full Self-Driving beta software. Turns out, version 11.4.2 is set to start rolling out to testers this weekend, and it sounds like it’s gonna be a doozy.
According to Musk’s tweet, the new update “addresses some easy to fix bugs” in the current version, 11.4.1, that’s been giving testers a bit of trouble with “excess conservatism with narrow roads & with lane changes in heavy traffic.” Color us intrigued! While 11.4.1 has been getting kudos for noticeable improvements to FSD’s lane changing abilities and overall better performance, it seems the new version aims to loosen the reins a bit in tricky driving scenarios that have been causing the AI to hesitate.

If FSD Beta’s about to get a major confidence boost in navigating congested roads and tight spaces, this could be a huge leap forward in demonstrating Tesla’s progress with autonomous tech. Based on Musk’s tweet, it sounds like even more FSD Beta users will start getting access to 11.4.2 once it’s live, as the CEO said “new users should get in as well.”
