Leapmotor, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, is shifting into high gear with its international expansion strategy. On September 29, the company announced the completion of its first batch of global sales channels, marking a significant milestone in its partnership with automotive giant Stellantis Group.

By tapping into Stellantis’ extensive global reach, Leapmotor aims to establish a formidable presence in the European market. The ambitious plan includes setting up 350 sales outlets worldwide by Q4 2024, with 200 of those located in Europe. Looking further ahead, the company intends to expand its European network to 500 locations by 2026.

This strategic move will see Leapmotor’s C10 and T03 models sharing showroom space with well-established Stellantis brands such as Jeep, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Peugeot, and Citroën. It’s a bold step that could potentially elevate Leapmotor’s brand visibility and credibility in the competitive European automotive landscape.

Leapmotor isn’t just focusing on sales. The company is also leveraging Stellantis Group’s robust logistics infrastructure in Europe for after-sales services. Nearly 140 centers have been selected to supply parts for Leapmotor vehicles, ensuring that customers will have access to reliable maintenance and repair services.

The C10 and T03 models are now officially available in 13 European countries, with deliveries commencing at local dealerships. Leapmotor has positioned its vehicles competitively, with the C10 starting at €36,400 and the T03 at €18,900. However, it’s worth noting that prices may vary depending on the specific country.

This rapid expansion is the result of a global strategic partnership formed between Leapmotor and Stellantis Group in October 2023. The joint venture, with a 51%-49% ownership split, seems to be paying dividends already.

Leapmotor International has revealed plans to operate in key European markets including Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom by the end of this year.

As Leapmotor motors forward with its expansion plans, it’s clear the company is charging up for a significant presence in the global EV market. Will this partnership with Stellantis give Leapmotor the jump-start it needs to compete with established players?
