Tesla has launched “Tesla Ride,” a new program that brings the company’s vehicles directly to potential customers’ homes for personalized test drives. Rather than requiring interested buyers to visit showrooms, Tesla Ride allows people to experience the company’s technology—particularly its FSD Supervised mode—in their own neighborhoods, check out Tesla Events page.
“We bring your dream Tesla to your driveway so you, your family, friends, and neighbors can experience the thrill of Tesla + its magical tech without leaving the block,” explains Raj Jegannathan, Vice President of AI and IT-Infra at Tesla.
How Tesla Ride Works
The 45-minute sessions put participants in the driver’s seat with a Tesla advisor as co-pilot. During this time, drivers can test FSD Supervised capabilities while navigating familiar streets. Advisor provides guidance on vehicle features, from practical elements like climate control to entertainment options.
Participants need a valid driver’s license and auto insurance to qualify. Tesla recommends scheduling sessions in advance to secure preferred time slots.
The Tesla Ride program showcases more than just the company’s autonomous driving features. Participants can explore:
- Dog Mode and Camp Mode settings
- Rear-screen gaming capabilities
- Grok AI interactions, including questions and storytelling
- Climate control and comfort customizations
“Cruise the neighborhood with FSD (Supervised), play arcade classics, or just vibe in climate-perfected comfort,” Jegannathan adds.
Tesla Ride launched in October 2025 and runs through November, with some markets extending through December. Program currently operates in several states including Michigan, Virginia, Illinois, Nevada, and California.
Despite the promotional nature of Tesla Ride, the company maintains transparency about its technology’s limitations. Program materials clearly state that FSD Supervised does not make vehicles fully autonomous, requiring driver attention at all times.
For those considering a Tesla purchase but hesitant about the technology’s learning curve, Tesla Ride program offers a no-pressure opportunity to take these vehicles for a spin—literally in their own backyard.
